A music sequence is visualized
by design methods.
In this project, we translated the melody, tonesand emotions of the song ‚Fjarlæ gur‘ into graphic elements. Before giving the composition its final visualization, we used different methods, like a semantic differential, to evaluate and analyse the music. Through a morphological box, we created the characteristics of the instruments; form, colour, direction, intensity and association. Putting all instruments together, the piece of music gets its visual appearance in form of lights in a city.
Animation | Installation
Semantic differential, moodboards and morphological boxes are strategies which are used to analyse the piece of music and to create a visualization. The notation was helpful to show which tone appears at what time. The grid is a frame for the instruments´ place of appearance. The concept is implemented in After Effects and the animation is adapted to the music in time.
